Duck Women Drop to No. 2 Despite Dellinger Win
The third USTFCCCA poll of the season came out Tuesday and for the first time this year, Oregon is not atop both polls. The Duck women were usurped by their rivals from Washington, following the Huskies' win at Auburn's Tiger Invitational. Washington had seven of the top nine runners on Saturday, an impressive feat. Ironically, the Huskies' closest competition at the race across the country came from their nearest Division I neighbor, Oregon State, as the Dawgs beat the Beavers 19-98. Oregon was just as impressive with five runners in the top nine to win convincingly over three ranked teams and a number of others who reaped immediate benefits from competing in the Dellinger Invitational. Arkansas, which ran second, moved up a spot to No. 10, while Penn State (third) made the big jump of the week from unranked to No. 23. Wake Forest (fourth) also went from being unranked a week ago to No. 25. Brigham Young (fifth) fell from No. 23 to No. 26.
